Questions

What is special about playing in CAMERATA BERN?
The ensemble size allows for a feeling of chamber music, a feeling of orchestra playing, and also a feeling of solo playing.

What are your interests outside of music?
I very much enjoy drawing and painting. I particularly like the fact that the “completion” of a work is not focused on a single moment on stage, and that an image can also be experienced through smell, sight, and touch.

Do you have a certain ritual before a concert?
No, but afterwards – a beer!

About Sibylla Leuenberger

Born in Bern in 1974. She began her studies at the music academy in Biel with Christine Ragaz, where she completed a teaching and orchestra diploma. She then completed a concert diploma with Ulrich Gröner at the music academy in Winterthur. Master classes with Adelina Oprean, Thomas Kakuska, Christoph Schiller and Igor Ozim broadened her education.

In addition to her teaching activities at the music school in Unteres Worblental, Sibylla Leuenberger is also active as a chamber and orchestral musician in various formations. Her performances have brought her and continue to bring her to many different European cities as well as to the USA, Mexico and South America.

For many years she was second violin leader in the Neuchâtel Chamber Orchestra.

In Bern, Sibylla Leuenberger plays as concertmaster in the OPUS orchestra and has been concertmaster of the Berner Kammerorchester since 2010.
