12nach12

The event series «12nach12» makes it possible to see and experience what takes place behind the doors of PROGR, the artistic centre and cultural hub in the heart of Bern.

Hosted by PROGR and the CAMERATA BERN, the rehearsal sneak peeks in the auditorium begin at 12:12 and last about 40 minutes—perfect to combine with a lunch break.

CAMERATA BERN, with its rehearsal room and office based in PROGR, regularly participates in 12nach12. Through 12nach12, the ensemble invites you into the rehearsal period to share an excerpt of the current programme in an informal setting.

Creaviva

In collaboration with Creaviva at the Zentrum Paul Klee, CAMERATA BERN aims to create spaces – through an inspiring interplay between studio and concert hall – where participants can hear colours and see music. A multi-sensory experience for all generations that sharpens one’s own perception and allows the deep connection between sound and image – very much in the spirit of Paul Klee – to be experienced first-hand.

KonzertGeschenke

CAMERATA BERN brings music directly to people far from the traditional concert setting.

Instead of the audience travelling to the ensemble, the ensemble travels to the audience and plays in social and educational institutions. The KonzertGeschenke (concerts as gifts) are short and accessible, with encounter and exchange as a central part of the experience.

The KonzertGeschenke are free of charge for these institutions and are only possible with the support of partners and sponsors. We would like to thank the Burgergemeinde Bern, the BEKB Förderfonds and the Ernst Göhner Stiftung for making the KonzertGeschenke possible. If you would also like to support the KonzertGeschenke of CAMERATA BERN, please contact info@cameratabern.ch.

School concerts

In November 2026, CAMERATA BERN will be touring schools across the canton of Bern with its ‘SpielSachen’ programme. At the heart of the programme is a 30-minute concert, during which pupils in years 1 to 4 will have the opportunity to experience the string ensemble up close as it performs a highly varied programme.

The concert experience is framed by preparatory activities, consisting of video messages to watch in class and a personal meeting on the day of the concert, as well as follow-up activities, consisting of a joint reflection with the ensemble immediately after the concert.

Interested teachers should contact info@cameratabern.ch.

Rehearsal visits for school groups

CAMERATA BERN invites school classes, as well as companies, foundations and social or educational organisations, to attend selected rehearsals and dress rehearsals. Anyone interested is welcome to contact us at info@cameratabern.ch

Partnership with the Gymnasium Oberaargau in Langenthal

For the past four years, CAMERATA BERN has partnered with classes taught by Gabriel Wernly in the music focus area (Schwerpunktfach) at the Gymnasium Oberaargau in Langenthal. Each semester, in addition to attending rehearsals and concerts, the students engage intensively with a selected concert programme. They immerse themselves in music history and musical analysis, conduct interviews and discussions with musicians and guests of CAMERATA BERN and ultimately create their own concert introduction.
