About Lily Higson-Spence
Lily spent her earliest years sleeping underneath the piano to the soundscapes of Debussy, and being in despair about how her thumbs weren’t the same length as her fingers. This combination of music as a bedrock of comfort and a strong curiosity to question life’s most challenging findings, has led her to pursue music as a life-long endeavour.
After establishing her foundation at the Australian National Academy of music under the wing of Robin Wilson, she commenced further studies in Berlin, then continued in Salzburg with the wonderful Rainer Schmidt until the end of her degree in 2024.
Apart from joining CAMERATA BERN as their newest member, other recent highlights include playing as a guest with the Camerata Salzburg throughout the 2024-5 season, as well as continuing to play with outstanding ensembles such as the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and the Australian Chamber Orchestra.
